Friday is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wag and a kiss. What isn't clear in this shelter photo is how truly beautiful this little dog is with a stunning white coat with golden markings...and the world's cutest ears!

Once Friday gets a sudsy bath and a thorough brushing, he will absolutely be one of the most adorable guys around. At 9 - 12 months old and about 15 lbs, Friday is a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere a very sweet, small dog is welcome.

Friday is every bit the young guy...fun and active. But at the same time he is a well-behaved and very happy guy (once he's used to his environment). Friday is most likely to express himself with his wagging tail and excited kisses of love. At this early point in Friday's development, he loves almost everyone..be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Friday to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We'd like him to attend positive reinforcement group obedience group classes to be the very best adult dog he's capable of being (Farfel's is happy to provide a list of force-free trainers in your area). We also feel Friday would be most comfortable with an adult family or one with older, dog-crazy kids 10+ where voices are softer and the energy is calmer.

Right now, Friday is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved and most cuddly guy around. Friday is so loyal that he can easily be a constant companion - he would love nothing more than long walks, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend), lap-sitting or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Friday is flexible enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed.

Friday's new family needs to have the motivation, energy and open heart for a young rescue dog. He requires behavioral guidance with boundaries and tons of love to give him a positive attitude about his world.

Friday will be fully vetted and neutered when he arrives in Boulder to be in line with our commitment to zero population growth in dogs.

Friday has the softest coat that you just want to pet all the time. He will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a supplement of salmon oil would be great) to keep his coat cottony-soft and matt-free.

Friday is arriving on transport in Boulder in late July. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet pup. If interested in this adorable ...and very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.

About Farfel's Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We own a pet boutique named Farfel's Farm on Pearl Street in Boulder, CO. We have had the good fortune to find our niche in the Boulder community and experience success. We felt it very important to "pay it forward" in gratitude for our good luck. We couldn't think of a better endeavor than to save dogs who were out of time in the southern states, yet had been identified with great temperaments. We dedicate our efforts to their good health and ultimate wonderful, permanent homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Pets are transported from the southern states approximately twice per month. Almost 100% of the time, the dogs are spoken for as a result of adoption applications that can be referenced under Adoption at farfelsrescue.com. We study the applications. If the app indicates there is a match, followed up by a home visit and reference checks, the process moves to the next step. The adopter is committing to a 2-week foster (of course the dog can be returned at any time prior), and can then choose to finalize the adoption.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adoptions start out as a 2-week mandatory foster period. During that time, Farfel's covers all vet issues if one of Farfel's rescue vets is used. We also serve as a support with trainers and behaviorists on board for questions. An Adoption Application and an Adoption Contract must be completed before any dog can begin their 2-week foster. Our average adoption fee runs about $445. This amount serves to cover vetting, spay/neuter, all vaccinations, heart worm testing, temperament testing and transport. Our dogs come from Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and rural Colorado.
