Baroooooo! That's Boomer saying "howdy, hey" to you! This handsome hound is looking for an active and fun-loving family to call his own. He loves the great outdoors and going for hikes and long walks in the woods where he can chase down some critters and stretch his legs. Boomer is a big fella and sometimes starts off on the wrong foot with other dogs, and we think he may like a home where he can get a lot of one-on-one attention from his humans. Because of his hound-like personality, he also needs a place free of felines and small animals so please keep this in mind. Boomer has done great with kids in that past though, so be sure to bring any resident kids to the shelter for a meet-and-greet with him.

About Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland

About Our Shelter...

The mission of the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland (ARLGP) is to provide temporary care and shelter for stray, abandoned, confiscated and relinquished animals, and to place as many as possible into responsible and caring homes; to work to create awareness and support for the humane treatment of all animals; to end animal overpopulation through education and the promotion of spaying and neutering; to make end-of-life decisions based on safety and animal welfare considerations.

The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland (ARLGP) is a private nonprofit animal shelter established in 1911. Every year, we take in more than 4,000 stray, abandoned or owner surrendered animals.
