Meet Appalachia! Appalachia is a very pretty lady looking for her forever home! She was transferred from another shelter, so her history is a bit of a mystery. Appalachia is easygoing, social, curious, and very sweet! She just has an all around great personality! We just can't understand why no one has adopted this wonderful lady yet... could be that she's so relaxed that she doesn't catch peoples attention? Don't pass this sweetie pie by!!! Appalachia's calm positive energy is very catching and you can't help but be happy when she is around. She will make an EXCELLENT best friend! Her favorite activities include watching birds from a window, hanging out on a cat tree, taking nice cat naps, and SNUGGLING! You could be the one to give Appalachia the loving forever family she deserves!!!

About Humane Society of Greater Dayton

About Our Shelter...

We are a 501 (c) (3) shelter committed to finding great homes for great pets! We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations to do what we do for the animals in our community. We have low-cost spay/ neuter programs for dogs and cats in the community as well as offering Trap Neuter Release services for cats. We take in strays and owner-release animals and find them homes. We are the only animal organization in the area who will take in any animal species such as farm and exotic animals. We employ one humane investigator as well who is available to check out neglect and cruelty calls. We also offer humane education opportunities for children and adults.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We have pets up for adoption at our shelter on Nicholas Rd., and we also have cats up for adoption at our Meowza Cat Boutique inside the Dayton Mall. Meowza's phone number is 937-434-MEOW. We also have cats up for adoption at various pet supplies stores in the Dayton area. Interested persons can get a list of these stores from our website or can call us at 937-268-PETS (7387).

Our Adoption Process...

Adopters must fill out an adoption application, visit with the animal, and pay the adoption fee before they can adopt.
