Mitzie is our lovely tuxedo cat who was first brought to us because her owner became very ill and could no longer care for her. She was adopted recently by a nice lady who adopted one of our other kitties as well, and she brought Mitzie back because living with another kitty and 2 dogs was a little overwhelming for her. She loves to hide under her bed, especially when she's feeling shy. She is an independent kitty, who may not be a lap cat but she certainly loves head bumps, playing with string, and window-perching. Come be Mitzie's third-time's-a-charm fur-ever home!

About Humane Society of Sedona

About Our Shelter...

Our Vision - Be Our Heart & Voice
Building a caring community where every adoptable and treatable pet finds a life-long loving home.

Our Mission
The Humane Society of Sedona is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of pets in our community and beyond. The Society has served the Verde Valley since 1966.

The Linda and Allan Brecher Center for Animals at the society is designed to allow every person, who desires the love of a pet, to adopt and provide a forever loving home. The Center provides quality care and positive reinforcement behavior training for adoptable pets. Passionate volunteers help walk and socialize the pets in our care. Foster pet parents are an important part of caring for pets outside the Center.

The Society provides vital services for pets and people alike through income-based affordable spay/neuter surgeries and vaccination clinics. Also, for families in need to feed their pets, we have a Pet Food Program.

Another public resource is our adult and youth educational programs.

The Society relies on community support, contributions, grants, bequests, investments, proceeds from the Society’s thrift stores and some fees for service in order to save pets’ lives.
