Smokey (Neutered)'s Story...
Smokey is a cute 9-week old male kitten who arrived at the HSOV on July 11, 2017 after a Good Samaritan found him near a high-traffic road in the Fleming Ohio area and brought him to the safety of our shelter.

Smokey has a gray/gray tabby medium-haired coat, a long tail, and an adorable kitten face with hopeful trusting eyes and beautiful 'ear furnishings'. Smokey has some of the longest whiskers we've seen on such a tiny kitten, and they are very unique. His long white whiskers resemble a fu manchu mustache and curl out to frame his muzzle :) Smokey has a very playful outgoing personality

Smokey was given vaccinations, wormer, and Revolution flea treatment on July 12, 2017. He weighed 2.2 lbs. on that date and will be neutered (at no cost) to his new family before he is adopted. Smokey is available for foster or rescue at any time.

Smokey was neutered on July 26, 2017 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 2.7 lbs on that date.

Rescue groups may contact our Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation and also provide combo testing without charge to rescues/fosters.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smokey (Neutered), a Marietta Domestic Mediumhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair kitten from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
