Max & Marley's Story...
Hello there, social media world! We are Max (on the left) and Marley! We're 3 year old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund) brothers and love each other very much.

We've been on a bit of an emotional roller coaster, as last week we were brought to the shelter when our owners had to go into assisted living and couldn't bring take us with them. They loved us very much and wanted to make sure we have the best chance at finding a new home together.

We have taken a little bit of time to adjust to our new friends here, but have definitely come around! We are even starting to wag our tails a little bit! We want our future owners to know it may take time for us to become comfortable. Everything has been the same in our lives for 3 years, but now we are working hard to roll with the new things.

We are still figuring out how we feel about other dogs. If they are smaller and dog-friendly, we may do okay. We would prefer there to be no children in our new home. We can be anxious and would do best in a quiet home where our owners are home often.

We have so much love to give. Will you give us a chance? Love, Max and Marley.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max & Marley, a Michigan City Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Michigan City, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Michigan City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Michigan City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Michigan City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Michigan City paves the way for another one to be saved.
