Sydney's Story...
Dog friendly and although she is a bouncing lab pup, she adjusts to different canine personalities. She likes to be chased by her pushy German shepherd foster sister, and she lays on the ground so her gentle doxie foster brother can sniff her - although she has to be reminded he does not want to be chased sometimes.
She likes to army crawl on her belly through the grass and learning that fetch means after she chases the toy, she has to bring it back. She is very social and outgoing, asking for belly rubs from anyone and laying at their feet to keep them company. She needs training to learn not to jump on people, which is a consideration for families with small children. She is just so excited and happy!
She is crate trained, going into her kennel on command, and with structured play time breaks in between, she has not pottied inside her foster home. Continued structure is recommended and she is very food motivated!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sydney, a Phoenix Labrador Retriever/Whippet puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Whippet for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Whippet puppy from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Whippet breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Whippet rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
