Shortstop is a very friendly and outgoing 3 year-old all-American mutt whose breed mix is anyone’s guess. We love these mixed-up mutts who leave you scratching your head when it comes to assigning a likely breed mix to them. He was transferred from a high-kill county dog pound to a humane society in a neighboring county and from there made the trip to Canine Lifeline so he would have more time to find a new home. The humane society listed him as a Corgi/Basset mix due to his short legs and long body but there are certainly other things going on in his family tree too—perhaps some Lab and who knows what else. A DNA test would definitely be a worthwhile investment for this boy! Whatever this guy is breed-wise, he’s an outstanding dog personality-wise. He LOVES people and other dogs and makes fast friends wherever he goes. Although we have no history on his previous life, he has been a perfect gentleman in his foster home—excellent crate manners, great with his fellow foster dogs, and eager to please. He loves to prance while walking on a leash and is sure to be a hit in his new neighborhood. He met the resident kitties at the vet clinic and showed no interest in them so might be fine living in a home with cats. Shortstop weighs about 31 pounds and his adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email info@caninelifeline.org if you’re interested in Shortstop. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. About Canine Lifeline

About Our Rescue Group...

Canine Lifeline is an all volunteer 501(c)3 organization with a mission to save adoptable dogs from being euthanized at shelters due to overcrowding or treatable medical conditions such as heartworm. All of our dogs are in foster homes throughout northeast Ohio.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Canine Lifeline takes adoptable dogs to Petco in Macedonia most Sunday's. We also participate in many adoption events throughout the summer months. Please check our website at www.caninelifeline.org for the most current adoption event listing.

Our Adoption Process...

All Canine Lifeline dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations including a one-year rabies, and are on monthly heartworm preventative. In the warmer months of the year, our dogs are also on a flea and tick preventative. The adoption fee for dogs 7 months up to 7 years of age is $200. Senior dogs may be adopted for a reduced fee of $125. Puppies 6 months and under are $275. Since all of our dogs come from shelters and have been stray or abandoned at least once in their lives, we want to make sure that their next home is for keeps. That’s why each adoption comes with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a perfect match before the adoption is finalized.
