Here's what the humans have to say about me:
His name is UNO - possibly because he simply wants "to be one with you". He is happiest when getting hugged by ... anyone! Who cares about treats, toys, games, fancy accouterments: 'just hold me & love me' :)
Uno is a LOVEBUG in the greatest sense of the word. He arrived very unsure of the situation: an "older gentleman", Uno didn't understand why things had changed so much - so suddenly. But he soon found arms to hold him - and he's never let go. He just loves to be held. And at just 19 lbs., his size is just right for this. He's easy to pick up, carry, snug on your lap - and he loves nothing better than this. He is a LOVE.
He's easy to walk, doesn't pull or walk too fast. He eats well, drinks lots, likes treats, is great with other dogs - big & small - good with cats, kids, men, women. He'll sleep through the night in a crate, or better yet - at your side (of course, prefers the latter). His 'beagle-bark' will let you know it's time to get up! 😊 He's crate trained, but he'd rather be at your side or in your arms. He likes to sniff & putter 'round the yard a bit, have a little wrestle with his foster buddies, and he's back for a snug. Would really hate to be alone for long periods of time: he's 'a people-beagle'.
If you have time to fill with a wagging tail, a loving heart, & a cuddle-bug extraordinaire, this snuggler is for you. Uno was an owner surrender from a Missouri rural community. Uno ran off and got picked up by Animal control and the owner didn't want to pay the ticket. So just like that, Uno found himself on death row. A volunteer alerted Adopt-A-Pet of this little gem who didn't deserve to be where he was, and we pulled him out of the pound and brought him up here for YOU to adopt him and let him live out his golden years on YOUR lap! He's making up for lost time, acts like he's never snugged before. He went looking for love - and found Adopt-A-Pet. Now he's found out how wonderful it feels - and just can't get enough.
We believe Uno is about 10-12 years old. He is healthy, active and spirited with tons of love to give. He will make a wonderful companion for anyone lucky enough to adopt him. His adoption fee of $150 includes: comprehensive vet exam, heartworm test, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, rabies vaccination, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, routine deworming, microchip, and neuter.
