My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, there. I’m Priya (Pree-ya). If you’ve visited our shelter recently, you probably remember meeting me as soon as you arrived. I’m the three-year old girl with gorgeous (so they say) brown and gold highlighted fur and big green eyes. I spend a lot of time near the front door; if people look like they could use my help signing in, I may hop right up onto the counter to show them the ropes. As the official “floor cat,” I have lots of responsibilities here at AWLMC, and my very favorite is greeting visitors. I also keep tabs on the kitchen from the top of the fridge and help people find the rooms of cats they want to visit. My curiosity, energy, and love for people and other cats—and the fact that I’m “a joy to be around”—have made me a star at this job, and volunteers say they’ll be lost without me. But, as much as they appreciate my brightening their days and presiding over their meetings, they know I need a real home and a lap I can settle down on. They say I’m like the matchmaker who longs for a true love of her very own. We’re all waiting eagerly for my furever person to walk through the front door. Could that be you?
