Gracie is a 2-3 year old German Shepherd / Dutch Shepherd mix. She weighs just under 50lbs.

Gracie is dog friendly and would like a home with some canine friends. She's pretty evenly mannered but would prefer a neutral or submissive friend(s). She does have a very high prey drive so no small animals please.

Gracie has the ability to escape even a 6 ft fence so she needs an adopter committed to exercising her and taking her out to potty on a leash.  She's house broken and learning a crate is a safe place.

Gracie is a love bug and craves affection from all. She really loves her foster dad.  She's learning how to communicate her needs and will even scratch at the door when she needs to potty.

She isn't a vocal girl but offers smiles instead!

She's a bit hesitant with stairs, one moment she'll do them and the next she's very unsure and will refuse so we don't feel she would do well in an apartment.

Due to Gracie's prey drive she can be a flight risk if doors are left open so no small children please.

Gracie will make an excellent companion to any dog savvy family. Her foster family says she's been the easiest dog they've ever brought into their home.

Gracie is being fostered in MD.  Anyone applying to adopt Gracie must be willing to travel to MD to meet her, once the application is approved.

~~The Last Resort is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.thelastresortrescue.com/adoptionapplication.htm

About Our Rescue Group...

We rescue dogs from high kill shelters usually in the south because they euthanize via barbaric methods like gas chamber, electrocution, etc.
