Hi all you Northerners! My name is Kanala and I am a spry not quite 5 year old spayed female. My name means ‘shining’ but my light didn’t really shine until I was rescued from an abusive situation in the scorching southwest. My trek to a new life took 2 days during which I met many wonderful people who only wanted to help me. When I finally got to my foster home, I was so unsure and scared. Everything was so new! I had never been around humans who cared so much about me. I was afraid to let my guard down. I had never been in a house but was always kept outside. I had never been in a dog pen where I could move around but always kept chained to a dog house. I had never had a reason to trust people but now I have humans who feed me and brush me and love me and I kinda like it!
It didn't take long though for me to realize how great people are. Chilling with the family is the best. I love sleeping on the bottom of my hu-mom's recliner at night when she is watching TV. For such a young dog, I am pretty laid back. Don't get me wrong, I love to play and get the zoomies every now and then! I've pretty much mastered house training and walk nicely on a leash. I still have a lot to learn about being a pet and there are inside things that I don't understand but with a little patience and love, I know I will be a great family member. I love truck rides and playing in water. My foster mom was told that I like other boy dogs but not so much other female dogs. I have tried to make friends with my foster family's boys but they are pretty snooty and just ignore me but I think I might like a friend.
