Rex is a young, sweet, GSD who loves his people. He loves squeaky balls and Nylabones, and he has a healthy appetite. He came from the shelter where his owner released him. He has been to an orthopedic specialist to have his hips evaluated and he does have hip dysplasia;however, he does not need surgery at this time. The doctor said that since he shows no sign of pain, and he can run, jump, go up and down stairs, and get in and out of cars easily, that the dysplasia is not affecting him. If, at 18 months, he does show signs of pain or limited ability, he may be a candidate for hip replacement. Otherwise, he gets to self limit himself and enjoy playing and learning!
Rex is a joy to have in our home. He is a sweet pup who corrects verbally very easily and is eager to please. He does love people and he loves to play.
We are looking for a home that will continue his exercise to strengthen his back legs and continue basic obedience with him, as he does enjoy learning new things. We also want someone who, if needed, can afford to have the surgery done.
He needs a grain free limited ingredient diet.
Rex is very special to us and we want to find the best home available for him.
