My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mr Bojangles is a lovable adult dog. We have no idea of his mix but he may have some poodle in him and terrier. He is approx 8 yrs old and 38 lbs. His owner's son surrendered him to the city pound as his mother had developed Alzheimers and could no longer care for him. He was horribly matted. His coat is very long and a black/gray color and we had our groomer shave him down. His coat is starting to grow back and he is a beautiful dog. He tested positive for heart worms and has been treated with the required series of shots. He has also been started on heart guard monthly for prevention.

He is blind in one eye and our eye vet thinks he was born that way and has been blind since birth.
The good news is he said the other eye is perfect and he has great vision and it doesn't bother him at all. He gets around just fine. He is a sweet dog, he gets along with the other dogs and loves to play with the puppies that we have in rescue. He is well behaved. He likes to talk for his supper and gets very excited..he seems to be pretty well house trained. We just make sure he gets to go out to the yard every few hours. He also does well on a leash. We would prefer and older family because of his one blind eye - we would want to be sure that he is not approached quickly on his blind side.

The total adoption cost of $450 includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration . The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. All our dogs are in foster care, there is no physical shelter. Some have not yet arrived in PA. Our application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/
