My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet and mellow girl is Sarah and she is looking for someone to follow around and hang out by their side. She is a dachshund mix who weighs about 26 lbs and is about about 3 years old. Sarah was rescued from a rural shelter in Oklahoma along with her nine 1 week old puppies. Her puppies are growing up and weaned so Sarah is ready to let them leave the nest and get a home of her own.

Sarah is a very calm and mellow dog who loves to be with her person and lay around. She loves to cuddle up in her bed and get some space from her 9 kids. In her foster home, Sarah follows around her foster mom and even waits on the bathroom rug while she showers. Sarah is good with other dogs, older kids, and with cats. She is a little too timid for small kids. She is pretty easy-going and laid back. She knows how to sit and would love to learn more.

Sarah would like a home where she has a patient owner who will give her time to warm up as Sarah can be a little shy at first. She tends to warm up to females faster. Once she warms up to you, she would love to follow you around and sit by your side. Sarah would be happy in a calm home where she can just lay around yet she also does fine in her foster home with a few kids and dogs running around her.

Sarah is crate trained and will even go in her crate on her own when you tell her "house". She may need some assistance with house training as in her foster home she usually goes to the bathroom outside but occasionally if she can find a room where no one can see her she may go in the house. If they shut the doors to other rooms in the house, she will not go inside the house. She walks well on a leash but she gets a little scared when cars pass her out on the walk and wants to return home so she'll need some help overcoming her fear.

Sarah is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her shots. Her adoption fee is $150.
