URGENT - Tiki needs placement immediately!
My friend died and the people who cared for her after that are moving this week and can't take her to their new small apartment. When he died Tiki was heartbroken, after faithfully keeping watch by his side through his years of illness.
Tiki is a sweet and beautiful senior girl, a 12 yr old, 75 lb. German Shepherd mix. She is very affectionate and loves to cuddle & be petted. She's a real charmer who looks and feels like a teddy bear with a beautiful soft and multicolor coat! Amazing pleasant personality and loves everyone. Loves to be petted. She's good with kids. She's a very calm dog. Doesn't jump or bark. Goes for short walks & doesn't pull. Good off leash too. No behavior problems.
Tiki is good with other dogs. She hasn't lived with cats but at her old age she is slow moving, I doubt she'd chase them. She is very gentle and moves slowly due to arthritis. She needs a place with no more than 4 steps to the yard, ideally 3. My friend is a carpenter and can build a temporary or permanent ramp (free of charge), inside or outside, if the foster has more than 4 stairs.
Tiki has been well cared for. She eats grain free Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Boost, Omega fish oil supplement for her joints, vitamins, digestive enzymes etc. She gets quarterly acupuncture & chiropractic for her arthritis and I'd be happy to be a sponsor for Tiki and transport her and pay for these, as well as her food during her time with the foster or adopter.
Tiki dribbles a little, mainly at night and sleeps on disposable pads. She does well during the day if taken out often. She's been taking Proin for 9 months and it has helped a lot but not completely. She also takes an Chinese herbal supplement for that called Wu-Bi-Shan that helps with that and her arthritis. She just began on Incurin several days ago to see if that helps. She's had complete bloodwork, urinalysis, a Rabies titer & exemption, doesn't have diabetes or other diseases.
Can you give Tiki a place where she can live out her life peacefully & safely? If so, please contact Julie by emailing email@example.com
