My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gigi is a schnauzer mix, she is approximately 2 yrs old and 35 lbs... She is a
great dog and has a wonderful personality. She loves to run and play and loves toys. She seems to be house trained and does well on leash. She gets along well with the other dogs and would be good as an only dog or with buddies..

She was so sweet and submissive when she came off transport from Houston. She met everyone with a request for a belly rub, she greeted everyone calmly to show how gentle she is. She rode in the car so very nicely - laid down in the back with an occasional sniff in the air and a stretch.

She went to doggy daycare boarding, and met everyone there calmly - she was a little shy, but brave - how confusing to be transported 3 days - but we had to get her out of Houston - there was no home for her there!!

When we brought her into rescue, she was treated for heartworm and she has been started on a monthly heart worm preventative, which is an ongoing requirement for adoption. Our orthopedic surgeon also corrected her dislocated kneecap and she is doing great.

The total adoption donation of $525 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. The application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/
