ZELDA was saved from one of the shelters we work with in Texas. She is SPAYED, rabies, core vaccines, de-wormed, heart-worm and tick-disease tested; Negative and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 12 April 2016. ZELDA was listed as a Husky / German Shepherd Dog, although she is very petite. We have no way of knowing the true breed, it is up to you to decide what you think she breed/s is.

ZELDA is great with all of the dogs here at the rescue. She loves to run, chase and wrestle with the dogs. She enjoys chewing on hooves and Kongs when she is having quiet time. We do NOT have cats on the rescue so I am not in a position to comment on how he will be with cats. She uses the dog door to go out to do her business, I would say she is house-trained, however, she might need to learn to let you know she needs to go outside as at the moment she has 24/7 access whenever she wants.

ZELDA is a social girl and loves to be around people and other dogs, she is young and high energy and so a family with an active lifestyle is a must. She would benefit from lots of road trips and adventures, hiking, trips to the lake, the beach and anywhere that she can burn off some of her energy and enjoy the sights, smells and sounds the world has to offer She rides great in the car. Although she is very responsive, she needs a family that has the time to work with her on basic and advanced obedience training. By working together both ZELDA and her humans can learn each others body language and personality, expectations and boundaries can be set and with self-training a stronger bond formed.

We currently feed SPORTMIX Wholesomes Chicken Meal & Rice Formula, a 4* (a per www.dogfoodadvisor.com) GRAIN FREE food along with pro-bioitics and immune support supplements listed on the available dogs page!

ZELDA will make a great family addition to an experienced family. She is fun, active and very loving and deserves a good family and home to call her own.

ZELDA is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue for an adoption fee of US $500.

This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.

If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the APPLICATION tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 2-4 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.

Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks.

Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx 8 miles) and approx 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend.
