Fitz was found as a stray and brought in with his siblings to find a home. They are all ready to go and are super nice kittens. Stop in and meet them and all the other great kittens we have that are waiting to find a home of their own.
Fox Valley Helping Paws Animal Welfare Association, a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization, was founded in 1969. Helping Paws is a no-kill animal shelter for stray and abandoned dogs and cats in McHenry County and surrounding areas. The animals are provided a sanctuary where they receive medical care, spaying or neutering, daily care and love, and the opportunity to be adopted by a responsible owner.
Come Meet Our Pets...
The shelter is open 7 days from noon until 4:00 pm with late nights on Tuesday and Thursday until 7:00 pm
Our Adoption Process...
Adoption Procedure If you are interested in adopting an animal, you must first fill out a pre-adoption form (see below) so that we can match the right family to the right pet. Before a dog can be adopted, a second visit to the shelter is required. It is important that everyone in your family meets the new dog and if you already have a dog that a meet and greet is arranged to make sure the dogs will get along. It is also important that you are entirely sure that this is the right decision for you and your family. Helping Paws' primary concern is the well being of all our loving animals entrusted to our care. Our Adoption Policies list the requirements we stand by to ensure the animals are adopted into loving, responsible homes. Adoption forms are available at the shelter; they are not available on the website.
Adoption Fees Dogs: $350.00 8 weeks up to 1 year $300.00 1 year through 7 years $250.00 Over 7 years 7 years and over available for Senior-to-Senior (adopter must be 65 or older to have adoption fee waived)
