***** NEW KID ON THE BLOCK *****

Roscoe Jones here with a howdy-do and a nice to meet ya! I'm an 8 month old Boston with an abundance of energy (I said I was a puppy and a Boston didn't I?) and lacking a few manners (but I'm working hard on them)! In my old life, I spent a lot of time in a crate and didn't really learn the things I should. I'm going to need someone to take me by the paw and show me the ropes. I'm super affectionate and will love you so hard it'll hurt (and not because I think nipping is funny)! Here's more:

Age: 8 months old

Weight: 16 pounds

Health: Excellent

Demeanor: Active/high energy, very affectionate, very sweet, very social, curious, vocal at times (he's a good watch dog. Barks at noises he's not familiar with)

Likes: People (children over 6 years of age), dogs, playing fetch, giving kisses and snuggling, being held, going for car rides and walks, belly rubs, burrowing under blankets, sleeping in your bed, stuffed toys

Dislikes: Being left alone, being crated

Manners: Crate trained (but dislikes), nearly housebroken, leash trained

Fenced Yard Required: Yes. He loves to run in circles within his yard and won't do his business on leash.

Tidbits: Roscoe Jones was quite the handful when he arrived. Considering it appeared he had no training in any area combined with his age, it's no surprise. But he's already improved so much! Nearly 80% housebroken and mostly leash trained too! He will need continued assistance in the art of being a well-behaved dog. Someone who is home often would be a plus. Roscoe does not like to be left alone. He has a lot (I mean A LOT) of energy so engaging in walks, play and other activities will be important to Roscoe. He will need to be taught basic manners and that nipping hands and legs, even in play, is not okay. Luckily, he stops when told "no."

Roscoe Jones is an adorable boy who deserves the perfect home. His perfect home would be with a family (children over 6), maybe another dog or two and someone who is home more often than not. Oh, and that fenced yard!

About Boston Terrier Rescue of North Carolina

About Our Rescue Group...

BTRNC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) all volunteer North Carolina based animal rescue organization. Since 2003, BTRNC has rescued, rehabilitated, and provided adoption for Boston Terriers in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia.

BTRNC removes Boston Terriers from abuse/neglect situations, owner surrenders, animal shelters, other animal welfare organizations, or otherwise without an owner. BTRNC then places rescued Boston Terriers in qualified foster homes and provides all necessary medical treatment, including heatworm testing and treatment and vaccinations.

BTRNC works diligently to find suitable homes for all of its dogs available for adoption.

BTRNC supports the control of pet overpopulation through the spaying/ neutering of rescued Boston Terriers prior to their placement with adoptive families.

BTRNC solicits and receives donations from the general public and its members.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our dogs are fostered in private homes and are not available for viewing. BTRNC occasionally participates in adoption and other events where some of its dogs are present.

Our Adoption Process...

Those interested in adopting from BTRNC must complete an application which is available on its website, www.btrnc.org. If the application meets the specifications stated in the application and if BTRNC has or expects to have a dog that meets the applicant's specifications, its adoption coordinator will contact the applicant to further review and discuss the application. The adoption coordinator will also contact the veterinarian provided as a reference, and one of our volunteers may complete a home visit to meet the applicant and evaluate the applicant's home.

The fee for adoption is:
$400 for puppies up to 9 months
$350 for dogs over 9 months and under 8 years old
$150 for dogs 8 years old and older.

The adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, heartworm testing and treatment, if needed, any other needed medical treatment, microchipping, harnesses, leashes and i.d. tags.
