Well, we thought Froggie had found her forever home but the stars did not line up. Great news for those who showed interest but were told she was pending adoption. These things happen but it's for the best as we want both adopter and pup to be happy together.

There are also a few new things to share about Froggie. First, she is now heartworm free! Yahoo! And, drum roll please... she no longer requires a 6-ft fence in her next yard. She's been taught not to scale the fence, but mostly she just wants to do her business and return to her people. Here's more:

Age: 3 years old

Weight: 20 pounds

Gender: Female

Health: Healthy

Demeanor: Affectionate, sweet, high energy/active, aggressive towards dogs, playful, curious, quiet/mellow (when being held)

Likes: People (not tested with children), giving kisses (this is a BIG one), being held, sitting in laps, belly rubs, playing tug-o-war, eating treats, chewing bones

Dislikes: Dogs (and most likely cats)

Manners: For the most part, she is housebroken but does have occasional accidents. Okay on leash, knows verbal command "sit"

Fenced Yard Required: Preferred

Tidbits: Adorable Froggie is super lovable with people but dislikes dogs (and likely cats) so she must be an only pet. Since she came from a breeder, Froggie doesn't know a lot about manners but she is learning. Foster mom says she's smart and will pick up these things quickly and would make a wonderful companion for someone who likes to work with and interact with dogs. A great way to bond with Froggie is to be her teacher and friend.

About Boston Terrier Rescue of North Carolina

About Our Rescue Group...

BTRNC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) all volunteer North Carolina based animal rescue organization. Since 2003, BTRNC has rescued, rehabilitated, and provided adoption for Boston Terriers in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia.

BTRNC removes Boston Terriers from abuse/neglect situations, owner surrenders, animal shelters, other animal welfare organizations, or otherwise without an owner. BTRNC then places rescued Boston Terriers in qualified foster homes and provides all necessary medical treatment, including heatworm testing and treatment and vaccinations.

BTRNC works diligently to find suitable homes for all of its dogs available for adoption.

BTRNC supports the control of pet overpopulation through the spaying/ neutering of rescued Boston Terriers prior to their placement with adoptive families.

BTRNC solicits and receives donations from the general public and its members.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our dogs are fostered in private homes and are not available for viewing. BTRNC occasionally participates in adoption and other events where some of its dogs are present.

Our Adoption Process...

Those interested in adopting from BTRNC must complete an application which is available on its website, If the application meets the specifications stated in the application and if BTRNC has or expects to have a dog that meets the applicant's specifications, its adoption coordinator will contact the applicant to further review and discuss the application. The adoption coordinator will also contact the veterinarian provided as a reference, and one of our volunteers may complete a home visit to meet the applicant and evaluate the applicant's home.

The fee for adoption is:
$400 for puppies up to 9 months
$350 for dogs over 9 months and under 8 years old
$150 for dogs 8 years old and older.

The adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, heartworm testing and treatment, if needed, any other needed medical treatment, microchipping, harnesses, leashes and i.d. tags.
