Willo is a sweet ‘ole girl looking for a place to lay her head. She loves loves loves attention. After all, what could beat a head and ear rub? She is very gentle and easy going. She walks well on leash and looks forward to going on walks but even then she patiently waits for you to attach the leash. She considers cats and squirrels both prey items but is otherwise not very excitable. She enjoys running around in the exercise area for a little while and then mostly hangs out. She has had very limited contact with other dogs and would probably due best as an only dog. If you have another dog and want to give Willo a try, we are open to it. Preferably your dog's energy will match Willo's and we recommend trying her with male dogs and not other females. She should be wonderful with children. Willo loves to sunbathe and watch the world (and squirrels) go by so we would love to see her go to a home where she can enjoy a fenced in yard daily. In the summer time she enjoys soaking in our baby pools.
There is some debate regarding her age. One vet's estimate would place her at approximately 5 ½ years of age. Another vet said that no she is an old girl and at least 10. We're not sure if she's a senior aging well or a mature adult aging poorly. In any case, she ACTS the part of a senior. For the purposes of the APL's data base we split the difference and called her 8 ½!
There is an adoption fee of $100 for all cats and kittens. All felines are tested for FIV and FeLV prior to adoption. Dog adoption fees range from $175-$225. All canines over the age of 6 months are tested for heartworms. All of our animals, regardless of species are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption.
Please feel free to email our shelter and request an adoption application for any of our animals! While it can be filled out in person at our shelter, many folks find it easier to fill one out ahead of time. Processing an application generally takes about a week.
