URGENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED
Gibson, a JRT/Terrier mix, was surrendered to us last summer, through no fault of his own. The other dog in the home began to have seizures and during episodes, would became aggressive and attack poor Gibson. Gibby actually came to us with fresh scratches across his cute little face. Sadly, those attacks left our guy with trust issues.
Once you gain his trust, our boy is the smartest, friendliest, most loving and loyal dog you'll ever know. We have taken him through basic obedience training at Sit, Stay, 'N Play and they were amazed at how quickly he learned. He was a star student who not only earned our respect, but the respect of the trainers as well.
Gibson is now almost 5 years old, is neutered, UTD on shots, micro chipped, house trained and ready to get out of the shelter as quickly as possible. As you can see from the video, Gibby's kennel manners are horrendous. The poor guy is so stressed and anxious that all he wants is out of that kennel. Once he's had time to decompress, he is a pure delight. He just loves walking, playing, riding in the car and just being with you.
He does not do well with dogs that are smaller than he is, but loves playing with dogs that match his size or are bigger. And because cats are smaller than he is, his lifetime home cannot be one that he shares with them. But, Gibson absolutely adores respectful children (no yanking, poking, pulling, etc.) He will make an excellent addition to a family that is fully committed to making his life one that he deserves. The family meant for our boy will be consistent with the training we have established and will bring him even further along.
To ensure a successful adoption, multiple meet and greets at AWSOM will be necessary to give Gibson time to get to know you and develop trust with you. But believe us when we say that he is worth the effort. We love him so much and know that the family meant for him will understand his past and be willing to give him the time, patience and love he so desperately deserves.
Please, take a chance on Gibson. He needs it so badly. Come and meet him at the AWSOM shelter in Stroudsburg, PA, any day, from 11-5. Our staff is on hand to answer any and all questions.
