We've fallen in love with Bjork, and we're not ashamed to gush over her. When we first started walking her on our shelter trail, we could see she felt lost. All the people and the other dogs and the unknown things scared her. But, we tried again, and again, and Bjork rallied, falling in step beside us. Now, she walks with her head high, like she's proud of the confident girl she's becoming. Bjork is a gentle, medium-energy girl, is easy company. She's not sure how she ended up in a shelter, but she dreams of a home and we know hers is out there. She would love to have a human who will boost her confidence and make her feel like the rock star dog she really is. Bjork is already making huge progress. So, we know she will make even bigger strides in a stable, loving home. The thought of her napping on her human's couch or doing zoomies in the back yard makes us smile. Bjork is not a hyper-social dog. She may always be a little shy with strangers. To us, that's okay. Not everyone has to be the life of the party. That's where you can help her. Teach her that you will be her buffer and protector. Nudge her gently to trust you. Show her the way. We would recommend a child-free home for her, not because she doesn't like kids, but because she might feel stressed by their energy. She might love to have a dog companion to show her the ropes. If you have one, bring yours to the shelter to meet Bjork.
