My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am completely obsessed with Banjo. He is the biggest love ever. He was picked up as a stray running around in heavy traffic. I pulled over to help him and he sat down in the road and smiled at me. He flipped his lip up and smiled from ear to ear. He will smile like that every time that he is excited. It is just too cute. He is about 6-7 years old and is a treeing walker coonhound. Hounds are completely underestimated as pets. They make absolutely the best companion dogs ever. Banjo enjoys being outside, but enjoys being inside equally as much. He would be considered medium energy so moderate exercise would be fine for him, but will need enough exercise to help him keep his figure. He love love loves to lay on the couch with his humans and cuddle. His favorite is sleeping in bed with his humans. He will go to sleep and not move a muscle until you ask him to the next morning. He also likes to give hugs, which is sweet, but not a good habit. So we are working on that. He will put his arms around your waist and literally hug you. He is the hugging and smiling hound dog. That's pretty special!! Banjo is fine with dogs and cats alike. He is house trained and also crate trained, but does not necessarily need to be crated as he is not destructive. We will require Banjo's new home to have a fenced in yard. Banjo is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and kept on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. He is currently being fostered in Tennessee, but we will transport him out of state to an approved adopter. We have transport pick up locations in VA, MD, PA, NJ, and CT. Our adoption fee is $275.00 and the transport fee is $145.00. Please email us at brighthopeadoptions@gmail.com to receive an application.
