**Betty is currently being fostered in Houston. Her adoption will be long-distance, meaning that meeting her in person prior to her adoption. Her adoption fee is $500USD, which covers her flight, kennel, and she is vetted appropriate to her age. Unfortunately, because the flights are so expensive, the adoption fee is non-negotiable.**

Betty came to us when we came across her being given away for free on Craigslist. Not wanting this beautiful girl to fall into the wrong hands, we quickly made arrangements to pull her into rescue. We are so glad we were in a position to help this sweet girl get off to her forever life.

Betty is a roughly 18-month old American Bulldog. She is fully grown at 50 pounds. She is an active girl who would be best suited for a family that has knowledge of the breed and is committed to proving her proper daily exercise. Many apartments and condos have restrictions on bully breeds, so it would be a good idea to check with management prior to applying.

Betty currently lives with other dogs and does well with them. She loves to play, but her activity level is not attractive to all dogs, so it would be important that any resident dog is okay with a higher energy dog. She lives with an elder Boxer as well as a little Chi Mix and is very gentle with both, but she also likes to run! She has not been tested with cats, so her ability to co-exist with a kitty friend is unknown.

Betty is a smart and loving girl who learns quickly and takes to training well. She would make an excellent running buddy with proper conditioning and a good adventuring buddy for the right family.

Betty does not currently live with kids, but given her general disposition, we think she would do great in a family who has children that know how to be respectful of animals.

Betty is house and kennel trained. While she’s done great in her foster home, she will be best suited family for a family that understands that dogs can take time to acclimate to their new homes - which could include having accidents, crying in their kennel, and chewing on things they are not supposed to.

We expect our dogs to be adopted by families who plan to keep them as indoor pets and part of the family. We do not adopt to families who plan to keep dogs outside for an extended period of time, for example the entire workday or all night. We rescue the dogs from outside lives and never want them to experience that again.

Betty is fully vetted (spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and is heartworm negative). She has no known health or allergy issues.

About Reggie's Friends - San Francisco

About Our Rescue Group...

Reggie’s Friends was founded out of our love for helping dogs. Living in a city of 1.2 million homeless animals, there was rarely a day when we didn’t see a dog in need of help. Instead of just wanting to do something, we figured out how to do something! Reggie’s Friends is dedicated to the health and welfare of dogs in and around the greater Houston, TX area. We focus our attention on street dogs and shelter cases that other rescues may not have the resources for. We live and love by our motto Street Life To Sweet Life.

Our Adoption Process...

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an application. This can be done via our website at the following link:

Our team will then review the application, contact references, perform a vet-check, and request photos of the common areas of the house and yard that serve in lieu of a home visit.

Following the completion of the application, we set up video chats either through Skype or Facetime between the foster and adoptive families.

Our adoption fee is $500USD, which includes the cost of transport and any relevant vet care appropriate to their age. Dogs flying into Canada are subject to an additional ~$125 in custom's fees. These fees are for customs and not related to the rescue or its expenses.

The application process generally takes between 5-7 days as all volunteers also have full time jobs and families.
