Meet Max! This two year old Lab/Pit mix is basically the best dog in the history of dogs. Max was surrendered to a crowded animal shelter when his owner was no longer able to care for him. Max was clearly destroyed, hugging his owners and begging them not to go. But they did go, leaving Max scared, confused and alone at the city pound. Max didn't know it yet but his luck was about to change. Even though Max's rugged good looks were hidden under a thick layer of despair the volunteers at the shelter could see past all that sadness and into the heart of the dog Max had been just a few short moments ago. The dog he could be again. The dog he deserved to be again. The volunteers promised Max that they wouldn't let him die, alone and afraid, on the cold shelter floor. So the race was on to find Max a foster home that could keep him isolated from other pets because he had been exposed to the flu at the pound. Max also needed a rescue to get him out of the shelter and to cover whatever expenses came about in the course of finding Max a new family. Well, the stars aligned, a few foster homes stepped up and CPR Fund agreed to take Max into foster care. Max's foster mom Sarah busted out of doggie jail on 2/9/2017 and after a few days of much-needed decompressing, Max has been the perfect dog. PERFECT. He crates easily and without much protest, is housebroken, knows some basic commands, doesn't seem to mind other dogs (actually, Max doesn't seem to mind much of anything these days), walks well on a lash, has fantastic house manners and is a world class snuggle buddy. Once Max is feeling a little better he will be brought up to date on all vaccinations, testing and preventatives. He will also be microchipped and neutered. If you would like more information on Max please contact his foster mom at Sarah@cprfund.com. Or go ahead and get you Adoption Application in today by visiting http://cprfund.com/form/66918.

About Our Rescue Group...

The CPR Fund is an all-volunteer network of foster homes dedicated to rescuing adoptable dogs from local animal control facilities' "Death Row." Once given "clemency," all dogs are taken into our homes, vetted, spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, crate-trained (or started), housebroken (or started), and given whatever else they might need, especially the love and attention they truly deserve.
