When you first meet Poppy, the first thing you notice is how tiny she is for a two year old cat. And the next thing would probably be that one of her eyes was badly injured and she is likely blind in that eye. Poppy came from a home where someone kept 'too many cats" and they were in very poor care. Poor nutrition, and inadequate medical care left Poppy with little reserve to grow and heal on her own. Was her eye hurt or is it a result of a respiratory and eye infection that wasn't treated? Sometimes we just don't know the cause, but we do know that she is now in good health, although the damage to the eye is permanent and it requires no further treatment.
Once you get to know Poppy you will learn just how perfect she can be. She loves to play and is great with other cats. When you talk sweet to her, she rolls on her back in happiness. Gentle pets are fine, but she dislikes being picked up at this time. She lacks confidence and because she is a bit insecure, she would probably be best in a quieter home, so she feels free to roam the house and having another feline friend with her might be helpful. *Dogs and young children may be too overwhelming for this gentle soul.
