Gertie's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Gertie is adjusting well.  She loves her Kong bed and sleeps all night.  She loves snuggles and attention and will follow you around like a shadow.  Gertie is pretty high energy when we are up and moving.  She let out a big howl this morning when she knew it was breakfast time, which made me laugh.  She is potty trained, and really her only bad habit is a bit of courter surfing- but she understand what "no" means.  She is good with kids but would probably prefer to be the only dog or one of two in the home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gertie, a Grapevine Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Grapevine, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Grapevine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grapevine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grapevine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grapevine paves the way for another one to be saved.
