Sophie- female, 2 or 3 year old lab/Pitt mix Sophie has not had an easy life, but despite the people who have treated her badly, she is a loving and attention seeking dog who only wants to give kisses and receive cuddles. She was originally an owner surrender, and then was starved before reaching us. She has been gaining weight steadily with the help of a special bowl and nutritious food. Despite her past of not having food, she is not food aggressive with people or around dogs ( she will try to take your people food through!) Sophie loves other dogs, is cautious around cats, and likes to chase after small animals like rabbits. She would be best in a home with no small critter type pets like rabbits or hamsters. She is young and has a lot of energy so she loves to play with soft toys and steal the toys from her foster brothers. Thankfully she is great on a leash so a steady schedule of walks helps her a lot. We are currently working on teaching her to not jump with the "off" command and she is getting very good with learning "sit." Since she is still young, she would benefit from basic training or someone willing to teach her with positive food reinforcement. Sophie is a wonderful young dog who is most happy on your lap getting pets and scratches on the couch. Give her the chance to learn what a steady and loving home can do to heal old wounds.
