Zooey was hit by a car, then brought to a shelter. CARE pulled her and got her straight to a vet. Zooey is fine overall, she does have some neuro damage (circles to the right when excited), but the main issue is excessive thirst and urination. Our vet has run numerous tests and tried several medications to diagnose and control this issue. We believe she may have an ectopic ureter, but unfortunately do not have funds for a specialist and surgery is not typically 100% effective.

If you would like to adopt her, please realize that she will leak urine. Her foster parents put diapers on her part of the day, but also baby gate her in their kitchen so her skin can breathe and dry the majority of the day. If you are up for the care that she requires and/or want to help her see a specialist, please inquire at: Thank you!

About Cullen's Archangel RescuE

About Our Rescue Group...

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter…the cast-offs of human society.

I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal.

And I was angry.

“God,” I said, “this is terrible! Why don’t you do something?”

God was silent for a moment, and then He spoke softly.

“I have done something," He replied. “I created you.”

ABOUT US… was started in 2003 for the protection and rescue of animals in need. Our mission is to educate the community, help animals in need, decrease the amount of strays in our community, and provide shelter for animals that are in need of adoption.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not currently have a shelter for the animals. We foster the animals in our own homes. We will be happy to show them to you by appointment. Please call or email to arrange. Our foster homes are in and around Columbia, SC (mainly). Out of state adoptions are ok, but same adoption procedures apply.

Our Adoption Process...

We adopt out of state at the adopter's expense. Please inquire about the process if you are out of state.

We require potential adopters to fill out an adoption application. Once we receive the application back we will check references (to be included in the application), a home visit will then be set up to see if the animal fits the family and the family fits the animal.

If the potential adopter is approved and all vet care has been finished on the pet, a non-refundable adoption fee is due via check, cash or Paypal.

We will check back on you and your new pet in a few days, 1 month and at 3 months (if there is a need, to make sure the adjustment period is a success). Should the adoption not work out, we will always take the animal back as quick as we can. It is required they are ONLY returned to us. Our screening process is geared to hopefully avoid unecessary returns. Please keep this in mind when adopting - it is intended to be a LONG TERM COMMITMENT.

Please ask the foster parent what the adoption fee is as some vary.

All animals come with the following (what the fee includes):

Vet exam, vaccines, deworming, heartworm test (dogs) or FELV/FIV test (cats/kittens), and spay or neuter.
