Hi People! Dixie
My name is Darling Dixie, and I am a tiny little girl of about 9 lbs, and a year old. I have a soft white coat (hair, not fur!) that is growing back and a smile on my face. My ‘aunties’ at BFK think I’m a mix of Bichon and cuteness. And just like my name, I am a little, sparkling, mischievous creature who will make you smile.
I am having a wonderful time with my foster family. I love my Mom and Dad and am a very happy little pup. I also LOVE to play with toys. Mom says I walk around the house with my favorite toy (which changes from day to day and time to time). And I’m really good at playing my version of fetch. If you throw a ball, I’ll go get it, then hold it in my mouth and smile at you. Your ‘job’ is to ‘engage’ me and get me to give it up. It’s so much fun. Besides that, though, if you ask me what my favorite toy is, I will say it’s you! My heart belongs to people (and there isn’t a lap I wouldn’t love.)
Dixie Even though I’m full of energy, I know how to behave like the very good girl that I am! I enjoy going on walks where I can experience ‘the great outdoors’, smell the smells, and meet people. I’m super friendly with everyone I meet too. Dad says I’m already housebroken and am REALLY good when it comes to letting them know! Now that’s impressive! I’m also learning commands (this is pretty new to me) and learning about things like ‘steps’ (Trying to figure out how to go up and down has been a new experience!) When we take a trip in the car though, now that’s my thing! I like to look out the window and don’t make a peep. And at bedtime, I can sleep any where~in a crate, in my bed or on your bed with you!
I’m definitely a snuggler and cuddler who loves tummy rubs (and head rubs, ear rubs, under the chin rubs!) I like sitting next to you or in your lap (even if you are working on the computer!) Mom says I just love being with my ‘special person’ and will follow you wherever you go.
All in all I’m just a very easy and loving little pup… almost! You see there are two things you should know about me. I’m a bit of a picky eater. Mom says when I eat my kibble, I clearly knows which flavored bits I like and which ones I don’t, LOL. And while I’m still a puppy Mom does not recommend me for young children. I can be a bit bossy and want my way so I need training and people who will enforce structure and order. Older children are fine though.
So if you think you have room in your house (and your heart) for a teeny little ball of fluff who loves to play and cuddle, just ask for me. If you have another little FurKid that would be fine, too, so I can learn from him or her and have a canine companion!
