My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DIAMOND is a 9-year-old spayed female yellow lab. Diamond weighs 87 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

DESCRIPTION Diamond is a sunny and lovely gal looking for a family that is going to dote and love on her like she deserves! Diamond is a beautiful energetic yellow girl who certainly does not act or look like a 9 year old. She has lived on the breeding farm since she was 10 weeks old. She was bred several times and is no longer wanted for breeding by her family. She grew up with kids on the farm but did not live with them so she is approved for kids 10 and up. She is good with other dogs but NO cats. Her evaluator said: "When I first got to the farm she was in an outside kennel near the driveway and got excited. She has a lot of energy but settled down after about 5 minutes.

Update: Diamond is a gem and a sunny girl, who has adjusted incredibly well to a new life beyond the farm and breeding puppies. She is a very friendly, sociable, youthful 9 year, and good reader of her foster humans and canines behavior. She greets her humans with constant tailing wagging when we come into a room that we just left. She has a cuddle content purr. When we are outside she enjoys romping around the yard. She heads to the kitchen door to politely inform us when she needs to go out. She recently surprised us by parking herself next to her separate food dish in the dining room, while watching me begin the pup meal prep, even though her resident sibs park themselves in the kitchen. This is a sharp and savy girl. Diamond sometimes heads off to the open crate, when she wants a a bit of private time, and sleeps all night next to resident dogs in her bed in foster folks' room. We are working on her leash skills, this is a new experience for her, and she is a strong girl, full of adventures to discover. Diamond has learned how to share toys politely, wait turn for treats, and enjoy popcorn toss pup parties. The zooming floor vac is no big deal; and she has just started to pay attention to the TV, sitting upright with the cutest cross paws.
