My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jolene! Jolene is a 9 1/2 year old female American Eskimo Dog. Her family recently lost their home so Jolene had to be given up. She had lived with this family most of her life; it is our understanding that they had adopted her as a one year old. Jolene is very people friendly and seems good with people of all ages, although we would not recommend her to a family with young children; we believe that the energy of living with kids would be too much for her. Jolene came into rescue on seizure medicine with the diagnosis of epilepsy, evidently she started having seizures about 5 years ago or so. Her seizures have been under control for some time now, and she has been seizure free since coming to the rescue. While Jolene has been with us, we have also discovered that she is incontinent; the good news is... she is currently on meds and fortunately the meds are working; she has been completely dry with no accidents for July! Jolene had never been properly socialized with other dogs, therefore she NEEDS to be an only dog; she does not know how to behave around dogs and may show aggression. We still need to test her with cats. Jolene's perfect family & home would be: American Eskimo Dog experience, no small children, no other dogs, fenced yard would be nice, but not required. Jolene enjoys walks, and is good in a car. Jolene's vaccines have been brought up-to-date, she is spayed, heartworm-negative, and microchipped. Jolene will be adopted with full scripts to last her thru her first month in her new home.
