ARF rescues adoptable animals from area kill shelters. We then place them in foster homes until they are adopted to approved permanent homes. We are not a shelter, we do not have a central location to see all the animals. Our pets are in foster homes or boarded at vet clinics in the Tulsa Area.
Come Meet Our Pets...
We are at 71st & Hwy 169 Petsmart on Fridays, 10-4; and the 41st street Petsmart Saturdays 10-4. We also show some of our animals at our building at LaFortune Park 7 days a week. Hours vary by day. Please visit our website for current hours.
Our Adoption Process...
ARF does not ship our pets. If you are interested in adopting a pet you can visit our website http://arftulsa.org/howtoadopt.html where you will find our online application. If your application is approved, you will then need to come to Tulsa to meet the pet and make sure it is right for your family.
WE DO NOT ADOPT BABY PUPPIES/KITTENS (under the age of 6mo) OUT OF THE TULSA AREA as they are not spayed/neutered or finished with all of their vaccinations until 4-6mo of age. If you are not in the IMMEDIATE Tulsa area (or a town that touches Tulsa) please do not apply for a puppy or kitten, and please do not ask us to make an exception to this rule, ...WE WON'T.. We do not adopt any adult pets outside of the Tulsa area without an excellent vet reference for past or current pets. Adoption fee is $150 for most dogs (if the fee is different it will be listed on their profile page - some "specialty" dogs may be more), $75 for cats and covers spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test or FIV/Feluk test, fecal worm test, current vaccinations and an ID tag. You will also have to purchase 6 months of heartworm preventative for the dog at the time of adoption.
