Katie Grace is an 11 pound poodle that is projected to be the age of 8 to 10 years old. She has soft, snow white curls and big brown eyes. Katie was found beside the road suffering from puncture wounds from an attack by another dog. She was brought to a veterinary hospital by some nice people trying to help, but unable to keep a dog or afford expensive treatment. Critter Cavalry Rescue was called in to help and the rest is history. Katie is now rested and recovered from her ordeal and has received a much needed dental and a groom. She is a quiet and reserved little lady. Katie will stay in a crate for short periods of time, while her owner is away, but would prefer to be allowed free roam of the house all the time. She is such a good girl and does not ever chew or bother anything in the house. Katie is house trained but does not walk well on a leash. She is going to need a home with a fenced yard so that she can take her time and not be rushed when she goes outside. She likes for her people not to be in a hurry either and to wait with her while she is outside because she does not like to stay out alone. She can get along with other small dogs that are well-behaved but would prefer to be the only dog in the home. She does not like competing for the attention and worries that she might get stepped on or knocked over by a younger or more energetic dog. She enjoys being pampered and daily brushing is something she has come to enjoy to keep looking her best. She is definitely a lap dog and wants to be in the company of her people all of the time. Katie would love to live in a home with a retired or semi-retired couple, where at least one person is at home most of the time. She loves to sleep in the bed at night and cuddle close. She does not care how hot it is because she just loves the human contact and does not mind being under the covers. She is looking for a quiet home with no small children where she can be loved and cherished, and receive all the attention that she deserves. This little girl has had a rough start in life. Could you be the family to treat her like a queen and make her golden years sparkle?
