Lucy's Story...
Looking for the perfect doggie duo?? Look no further! Meet Lucy of Lucy and Ricky! Lucy is a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix who is about 4 years old. She was found on the streets of Tijuana, Mexico with her son, Ricky, after being hit by car. Luckily, she has made a very strong recovery, and only walks with a slight limp. She also seems to have been abused in the past since she is a little hesitant of people at first, but warms up quickly with the help of her pup, Ricky, and turns into the biggest love bug. Lucy loves to play with Ricky, cuddles and, of course, treats! Lucy is extremely bonded to Ricky, and they must be adopted together. She relies on him for guidance and confidence, and he really held her come out of her shell. Lucy is dog and kid friendly, house trained, and ready for her forever home! She is up-to-date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and their adoption fee (Lucy and Ricky together) is $350. If you are interested in adopting this sweet, perfect duo, please fill out an online adoption application at https://www.theanimalpad.org/adopt-today.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a San Diego Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
