Ever wondered what a Beagle and a Pit Bull’s puppy would look like? Come visit Apollo and wonder no more. This adorable guy has the face of a pittie and the short little legs of a beagle. We can’t get over how cute he is!

Apollo still has the energy of a pup, so would do best in a home where he can go for daily walks.

Apollo is a bit too much for young children, but he’s working hard with our trainers here to learn how to be the best dog he can be. With a patient family and continued training, (offered right here at Atlanta Humane), Apollo could learn the rules of a new home. Won’t you come visit him at Howell Mill today? He’s ready to come home with you, as fast as his little legs can carry him.

About Atlanta Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

Atlanta Humane Society (AHS) is a 501(c)3 tax exempt nonprofit (IRS Tax ID# 58-0685900) and the oldest private charitable organization in Atlanta, founded in 1873 following a visit to the city by Robert E. Lee. The animal charity was originally chartered to protect women, children, and animals and remained a child protection and animal welfare society for 79 years. AHS, now a widely recognized pet adoption center, clinic, and educational program provider, was originally located on Marietta Street and moved to its location at 981 Howell Mill Road in the 1930s. Atlanta Humane Society's Mansell Road Adoption Facility was opened in December of 2011 in Alpharetta.

It is our mission to prevent neglect, abuse, cruelty and exploitation of animals and to assure that their interests and well-being are fully, effectively and humanely protected by an aware and caring society.

Atlanta Humane Society places approximately 8,000 animals into forever homes each year. AHS is committed to finding homes for all adoptable pets. We do not euthanize adoptable animals, and there are no time limits for the animals once they are in our care. We only humanely euthanize those animals suffering from significant medical issues or that pose behavior concerns. We are proud to be a part of the solution to ending pet homelessness and overpopulation in the Southeast United States.
