My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Raider and Bo: 3-year-old male black Lab brothers – 100 lbs and 90 lbs

The Autumn winds have blown Raider and Bo (Jackson) to the lab rescue team. These bonded brothers are a thundering fun-filled herd of two. They came from a litter of nine black male pure lab pups (yellow mom & chocolate dad)… and have been together since birth. We are hoping to adopt them out together. Changes in human family status requires their owner to find them a new forever home. Both dogs attended training at Alert K-9 in Brentwood in 2015 – and they could each use a refresher – although they do generally respond to a few commands such as sit, down, paw, and stay.

What Raider’s & Bo’s Owner says:

Both Raider and Bo are very friendly, energetic, and eager to please. They currently hang in the backyard all day right now, without barking… and, regrettably, they are not getting any walks or exercise outside the house. They get along with all people (especially kids) and other dogs, but will want to chase any cat they spot. Left to their own devices, they will chew (er, destroy) various things they can get their paws on. Raider is a bit of a counter-surfer… and Bo is a bit of a bolter – if he escapes, he will wander the neighborhood until I track him down in my car at which time he will jump in the back seat for the return drive home – “Gee, that was pretty fun! Can we do that again soon?”. Both dogs love to swim and enjoy riding in the car. Raider is much more attached to Bo, than Bo is attached to Raider -- I do want to see them remain together in their next home.

What Raider’s & Bo’s Rescue Rep says:

Chipped, neutered, and current on vaccinations. Both are crate-trained – and sleep (very quietly) indoors in their separate crates at night. Raider is a bit bigger than Bo, who has a splash of white fur on his chest. Raider and Bo would best thrive with a lot of room… an abundance of exercise… and a reasonable dose of structure. Oh, yeah, a pool would be greatly appreciated too. Great with kids. Not great with cats. Big, strong dogs, they need a steady hand or two walking them. These boys are located in Antioch.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
