Sweet gentle Clara was adopted from Fuzzy Pawz in 2017 but her person was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer recently. Unable to care for Clara any longer Fuzzy Pawz of course offered to take her back and find her new loving home.
At only 9 years old this girl has acquired a long lifetime of experience; having lived in Texas for most of her life and beating heartworm, now losing her home yet again. Gentle, quiet, calm, submissive gal is the easiest way to describe her; soft and loving should be thrown in for good measure. There really isn’t a bad thing to say about this absolutely lovely girl other than she can be a bit reserved with new people. She has had so much upheaval in her life it’s like she hangs back to make sure all is well before she begins to love.
Clara is great with other dogs and even likes cats. She would do best in a home with another happy, easy going dog for her to pal around with. She walks well on a leash (you have to encourage her) and takes treats gently. She loves to follows her foster humans around to watch what they are doing and sacks out on the couch for naps. She loves to go on car rides!
She actually smiles and clicks her teeth together when she gets excited - mostly food related. And if you aren’t moving fast enough to get her fed at dinner time she will let you know by giving you a slight nip on the ankle (all in good fun of course). She is good with small children but if they are running she will chase them and will nip at heals. So no kids under 10 please.
Has tested negative for heart worm
