My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We can't get a good picture of this puppy, lol!, but Chickasaw is a seriously adorable terrier girl from a Poodle mix mom. She's sweet and gentle, but underneath that all terrier. Independent, a little on the scrappy side....one of the largest players in her litter despite being one of the smaller.....and with an eye towards adventure. She is a bit of everything, loving to jump on the couch and snuggle with you, but also loves to do zoomies and wheelies around the home. Very smart as well, she will be a fun puppy to raise. The mother to this litter comes out of a hoarding situation and was scared of the world when first raising her pups, so they didn't get the best first imprint. Chickasaw has come along nicely, but will greatly benefit from ongoing socialization and lots of exposure. She is used to kids, loves other dogs and gets along with cats. We estimate she will mature 20-25 lbs, but of course that is only a guess.

THE RIGHT HOME for Chickasaw should have puppy raising experience, preferably terrier experience so as to understand their character, and have both the understanding of and time for the socialization process. High preference will go to those with an existing dog in the house, as this will help Chickasaw grow into a well rounded dog....with her strong character, we would hate to see her grow up reactive to other dogs and so want to keep her well integrated. She still is gentle and sensitive, which is her Poodle side, and thereby not a match for toddlers.

Applications are available on the southpawsexpess.org website or via contacting Lucy at maramuser@gmail.com. Her adoption fee is $450.
