My basic info
Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi Everyone! I'm Blue and that is Jay. We are a bonded pair of Budgies, also known as parakeets. We are on a seed diet but our foster parents are trying to get us to eat a pellet diet (kind of gross if you ask us, but at least they are trying). I, Blue, like to climb, the higher the better. I will step up for my foster parents, and they say that is awesome! They are working on getting me to like being petted,but still not sure how I feel about this petting thing. I also like to hang upside down from the top of my cage!. We like to tweet and sing while our foster parents are watching tv, but we try not to be too loud. My brother, Jay, is still playing hard to get with our foster parents.
My brother just doesn't like being touched. Jay just enjoys being on his own and making funny faces at the camera. He also likes jumping around the cage and stretching his wings. We came to our foster parents in a cage that was too small. We received a new cage, so now that we have a lot of room we climb all over and play with our toys. We don't mind the dogs or the cat. We also don't seem to mind this barking noise they make. Our foster parents have not had us out and around them so far and that is ok with both of us. You must be very very careful if you have us around cats and dogs as this can be both scary and dangerous. We've never been around other birds or children - little or big so this would also be a new experience for both Jay and I. Once we are both out of the cage we don't mind sitting on your shoulder or finger, whereas in the cage your hands coming at us are a bit scary. We are hoping to find a forever home where we can enjoy being loved for the silly boys that we are. Below is our Amazon wishlist. We came into Florida Parrot Rescue with very little, just the feathers on our back. So if you would like to send us some of the items from our list that would be so awesome. An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird's cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
