Ava (Spayed)'s Story...
Ava is a darling 6-week old female kitten who arrived at the HSOV on July 14, 2017 along with her two siblings (Annie and Austyn) after they were found in the Marietta Ohio area without their mother.

Ava has a gray-and-white short smooth coat, a long tail, and a darling kitten face with a pink nose and hopeful trusting eyes. This beautiful baby girl is playful, affectionate, and dearly loves her sister and brother.

Ava was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on July 14, 2017. She weighed 1.6 lbs on that date. Annie will be available for adoption when she is old enough to be spayed. She is available for foster or rescue at any time.

Her little brother (Austyn) has already left the shelter with his foster family and will be adopted when he can be neutered. We'd love to see Ava and her sister Annie adopted together since they depend upon each other for comfort and security.

Rescue groups may contact our Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation and also provide combo testing without charge to rescues.

Ava was spayed on August 23, 2017 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 2.8 lb on that date. And Ava was officially adopted by her foster mother later that afternoon

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ava (Spayed), a Marietta Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
