Miranda is a very sweet, and honestly quirky, senior Pitbull mix who just can’t seem to catch a break. She was found abandoned, emaciated, sick and very scared with wounds and old scarring nearly 3 years ago. After clearing up her health issues most of the way, she was fortunate to go to a wonderful foster home to continue to heal and learn some life skills for living in a home. She thrived with the attention and care she got, but unfortunately, her foster could no longer foster her and she came back to the shelter. Now armed with much more information about her health and temperament, we were blessed with caring people, like Sophie Gamand and Susie’s Senior Dogs to help promote her for adoption. Then, just as we were getting interest in her, she was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on her hind leg. The tumor was removed with clean margins and once again our girl is on the mend and looking for a forever home. After all she’s been through, we are looking to place her in an ideal home for her golden years. In her case, that means she must be an only pet to keep her stress levels down. She has a thyroid condition that needs lifelong inexpensive supplementation and occasional monitoring. And, of course, the site of her previous tumor will need monitoring as well. Due to her original neglectful condition, Miranda is on a food specific for skin. She is affectionate, loves treats, loves to be pet and really, really loves her tennis balls. If you give this special needs pooch a chance, she will melt your heart, entertain you and adore you.
