Facts about Squirrel - Adopted!

  • Breed: Schnauzer (Miniature)/Poodle (Miniature) Mix
  • Color: Gray/Silver/Salt & Pepper - With White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
Squirrel was found as a stray, taken to a shelter, and then pulled by our rescue into a foster home. This girl was listed as an adult by the shelter, but we thought they were mistaken because she acts so puppy-like! Our vet confirmed that she is an adult, probably around 4 years old, but she is full of puppy energy, puppy smiles, and puppy playfulness! Squirrel is probably a schnauzer poodle mix, and her coat is so soft that it's hard to stop petting her. She doesn't mind - as much as she loves to frolic and play, she also adores cuddles with her humans. Squirrel gets along fine with all dogs she's met, including large males, but she is very interactive with other dogs (so a dog who doesn't like to play or be bothered with others would likely get annoyed at her). She also does great with cats and people of all shapes and sizes. Squirrel is house trained, crate trained and pee pad trained as well. She's a bundle of joyful energy who will make a wonderful, loving companion and playmate for a lucky family.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please visit our website, contact us via email for more information, and fill out an application if you are interested in any of our adoptable animals. Meet-and-greets are arranged on a case-by-case basis. We hold our public adoption events at Metro-Detroit area pet supply stores on some Saturdays and Sundays. Please see our event calendar on our website's home page. Events are also posted on our Facebook page, and event details (such as which dogs are expected to attend) will be posted on Facebook.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process is similar to that of most other responsible rescues. There's an application, an interview, a meet-and-greet and a home visit as well as reference and vet checks. We encourage foster-to-adopt trial periods.Official adoption status comes after all requirements (including sterilization) have been met.
