Sweet Pea's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

'Sweet Pea' is a gorgeous, 2 year old female dog.  Her family no longer has an interest in her and so she is looking for a loving, stable, forever home.   She has lived in a fenced-in back yard with a family of kids.  But as the kids get older, they no longer are interested in the dog and no one is home with most of the time.

When we first met her in her fenced in enclosure, she barked and was not friendly.  when her owner brought her out of the yard, she relaxed and was friendly to her rescuers. The family reported that she likes people and they hated to see her lonely.   She will be available after being spayed on 12/29 and her adoption fee is $200.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweet Pea, a Alturas St. Bernard dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard for sale in Alturas, or seeking a St. Bernard dog from a breeder in Alturas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alturas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alturas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard breeders who help with St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alturas paves the way for another one to be saved.
