Max's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Max is another cute, friendly, active chocolate  Lab/ pit mix.    He is a neat guy and walks on a leash well and rides in a car happily. He paid very little attention to cats in the humane society cat room and settled nicely in a dog kennel.

Max had an unfortunate encounter with a horse and one ligament was jerked out of place.  He has recovered and plays very well with his kennel mate. But no livestock, please!! He gets along well with other dogs and loves to play fetch and tag and you name it!!!

Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Alturas Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever for sale in Alturas, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Alturas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alturas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alturas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alturas paves the way for another one to be saved.
