My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 07/10/09: Patty Cake is an adorable 8 y/o 7# yorkie girlie who came in with Anna (see above). They have been together all their lives and are very bonded. Anna and Patty Cake continue to flourish in their foster home. PLEASE NOTE: Anna & Patty Cake MUST BE adopted together.

Patty did really well after her bilateral luxating patella surgery – however, she began limping again a few months afterwards; her vet discovered that one of the pins in her leg had come out, so Patty had a second surgery several weeks ago and is doing exceptionally well – her stitches have been removed and her support bandages will stay on for another 10 days. She is such a sweet little girl, more reserved and quieter than Anna.

The two girls are doing remarkably well considering their background as breeder pups. Patty never really had a chance to be a puppy .........sigh.....

Please don't turn away from Patty because of her age, she and Anna will make such loving companions to the right family. Patty Cake is being fostered in Palm Coast, FL. PLEASE NOTE! Because of Patty Cake's history and small size, she cannot be adopted into a home with children under the age of 12 y/o. If you have children younger than this, please consider another dog.

Patty Cake is doing exceptionally well after her surgery for bilateral luxating patellas; she is walking well on both legs and is in good spirits. She is such a sweet little girlie. Her playmate and best friend, Anna is very protective of her. Patty follows FM around all day and wants to know where FM is all of the time. Both Anna and Patty are starting to display a wonderful playful side. They are no longer afraid to be outdoors and look forward to playtime outside and romping around the yard with foster mom's other pups. UPDATED BIO 02/12/09: Patty Cake is an adorable 8 y/o 7# yorkie girlie who came in with Anna (see above). They have been together all their lives and are very bonded. PLEASE NOTE: Anna & Patty Cake MUST BE adopted together. Both girls are amazingly sweet and loving, and only want a warm lap to lie in or beside. Their personalities seem to come out more and more each day. They both have such a wonderful spirit and are very, very loving. Housebreaking continues to be a 'work in progress'.

Patty seems to be taking the "shy girl" role now that Anna has come out of her shell. It has been discovered that Patty has a Grade V luxating patella and will be having surgery the end of February; this may be why Patty has become quieter recently. She can no longer get up over the threshold of the back door - she falls back on her bottom and struggles to get inside and over the threshold. Poor little one! Patty has a recent bladder infection, which has cleared up with medicine, and thankfully, there was no sign of cancer in her urine. Yeah! Foster Mom has been working on getting Patty to stop cowering every time someone tries to pick her up, and she's slowly getting better about it. It's just so sad when Patty goes down on her belly, as if she is worried something bad is going to happen to her. Foster Mom is working very hard on building her confidence in this area. Please don't turn away from Patty because of her age, she and Anna will make such loving companions in the right home. Patty is being fostered in Palm Coast, FL. PLEASE NOTE! Because of Patty's history and small size, she cannot be adopted into a home with children under the age of 12 y/o. If you have children younger than this, please do not apply.

UPDATED BIO 12-30-08: Patty Cake is an adorable 8 y/o 7# yorkie girlie who came in with Anna (see above). They have been together all their lives and are very bonded - Patty Cake and Anna need to be adopted together. Both Patty Cake and Anna are adjusting to their new lives very well. They no longer want to be in their crate, but prefer to be with the family. They don't like to be left alone, but follow their "person" everywhere. Patty Cake spent her life giving birth to beautiful puppies, only to have them taken away from her too early; she had never been let out in the sunshine before, or allowed to play in the grass - she now loves going outdoors and enjoys walking around scouting out her new environment. Patty is just a little love, and she and Anna have begun playing with one another. They both crave the attention they never received in their previous lives. Both girls are paper-trained, but may have accidents in their new home until they feel comfortable and know what is expected of them. They are both adorable and very loving little girlies that have come a long way in a very short time, and have adapted exceptionally well to their new environment - each day brings a new adventure for them. If you have children younger than this, please do not apply.

PLEASE READ B4 YOU SUBMIT ADOPTION APP: It takes a very special adopter to accept and love a precious little one like Patty Cake who has lived her entire life in a crate, unsocialized and very, very scared & timid. Her nails were very long, her coat matted and her mouth rotten - she lost all her remaining teeth when she had her recent dental.

For those of us who have witnessed the miracle of a frightened dog growing to love and trust, to play with toys for the first time, to walk on grass for the first time, to walk outside and breathe the fresh air of a fall morning - it is one of the most joyful and rewarding experiences of our lives. A little dog that has not previously known these things and who ventures to totally trust a human being in spite of these things is a triumph of the spirit from which we can all learn.

INITIAL BIO 11-15-08: MEET PATTY CAKE ~ she is an adorable 8 y/o yorkie girlie that was surrendered by a breeder who was no longer able to care for her. Anna has not had much socialization, and has mostly been crated her entire life, giving birth to puppies. :( She is very sweet, and with a lot of love and attention should turn into a wonderful companion dog who is so deserving of a forever home of her own. Patty Cake is being fostered in Palm Coast, FL. Please watch Patty Cake's bio for further updates as her Foster Parents get to know her better.
