Not all rescues are from a shelter and this rescue is so close and personal to me. Maddie is our Mother's Day rescue and this is her story: We were in Red Bay, AL having work done to our motor home and I soon learned what living in the south means when it comes to abandoned dogs. Evidence of no spay and neuter is everywhere. Pregnant dogs running free and homeless puppies with their mommy living in the woods. It's hopeless for most of the dogs living there. To even expect that there could be someone to adopt all the forgotten dogs is not realistic.

I knew I could not make a huge difference in my desire to change the hopeless existence of so many- but, this Mother's Day would be different for Momma Girl. Abandoned and living under a burned out RV was the sweetest momma and her three puppies. I fell instantly in love with her. In spite of her sad existence she learned to trust me during my stay in Alabama and daily "food time" visits. She would come running when I called her and drop at my feet rolling over for belly rubs. Mommy Girl had a lovely temperament and wanted only to be loved and with a human for attention. During my time with her I would cup her sweet face in my hands and promise her that things would be different for her and her babies....
I PROMISED!

And so, mommy girl and her three puppies became Diamond Dogs. They were all vetted and the puppies have since found wonderful homes in NJ and MA. Mommy is currently in GA being heart worm treated. When treatment is completed we will be looking to find her a forever home. She is fully vetted, UTD on all vaccines and spayed.

About Diamond Dogs Rescue Inc - NJ Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Our rescue focus is on adult dogs from the southeast that are in high kill shelters. Our plan is to fully vet as needed, evaluate and train as needed in preparation for adoption. We place our rescues in a foster home setting to prepare our dogs for a home of their own and to determine the best match for that rescue. Please keep in mind that a rescues are located in foster homes up the east coast. They can be transported to their forever home

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our dogs are all in foster care throughout NJ , and New England and various other locations. We do NOT have a physical location for your to visit our dogs, They are seen by appointment in foster homes.

We require an application to be filled out by all adopters. We require 3 references plus a vet reference as well as a home visit.Once you have been approved for adoption by filling out an application completing a home visit and having your references checked, we will put you in touch with the foster to meet the dog with your family. Sometimes we will do a home visit and bring the dog to the home visit after your application is approved.
