Tinkerbell's Story...
It’s cute little me, Tinkerbell! I’m tiny, only about 35 pounds, and need to gain some weight. I have a great personality, very laid back, friendly, AND housebroken. I get along fine with other dogs, although I’m not that interested in them—I’d rather be around people. I’m a little bit shy, and quiet and sweet all the time. I bark only when I really have something to say! Foster mom says I’m “the perfect little dog” and will make a great pet for someone—could that someone be YOU?03-17-08 ----------------- For an Adoption Application, please visit www.cbhr.com and either download/print the online form or simply call/email CBHR to request one in the mail. Thank You for considering a Carolina houndie!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tinkerbell, a Charleston Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
